J: I challenge you to a game of who can come up with the most animal sounds.
B: Myeeeuuuuuuu.
J: And what exactly is that?
B: A zebu!
J: Once again, what exactly is that?
B: It's a type of cow, stupid.
J: You retard! Fine then!
Honk! I'm a snowgoose!
Honk! I'm a Canada goose!
Honk! I'm a barnacle goose!
Honk! My name is Brett and I ruin every game Jacqueline invents.

B: Can we get a baby Zebu?
J: Don't they grow really big?
B: I'll flog it constantly and starve it so it won't grow.

Okay. I'll stop bashing Brett for awhile.

Jacqueline's Dad: So Brett, does Eggs Benedict sound good for Easter breakfast?
Brett: Umm, I don't like eggs.
Jacqueline: Nor would he like the sauce. Or the ham. It's sliced too thin.
Brett: I'll just have toast.
J's Dad: Well, we have some homemade jams and peanut butter!
Brett: I don't like jam. I am allergic to nuts.
J's Dad: Do you like hot-crossed buns?
Jacqueline: Brett hates fruit. Especially dried pieces of fruit like those in the hot-crossed buns.
J's Dad: Well, maybe I'll just make pancakes and sausages.
Jacqueline: Brett doesn't like sausages. But he does like bacon.
Brett: And I love pancakes.
J's Dad: Fine. Pancakes and bacon it is!

In all fairness, Brett wasn't being like "I don't like this" and "I don't like that." It's just much more comical if I word it that way. But what I did write concerning his food tastes is true.

Wal-Mart now has a wedding and baby registry. You should pick up the booklet that includes info on both even if you're not getting hitched or having a little one: it is quite comical.

Apparently, *essentials* on your baby shower wish list should include nursing bras (4 to be specific) and a breast pump. I think I will buy a breast pump for the next baby shower I attend.

And according to the wedding list, after you make your list out you should not forget to buy essentials such as: mariage license, wedding bands, and last but not least, an engagement ring.

Well, maybe it would've been a good idea for me to make the registry before Brett proposed. Then I could have added a bunch of pretty stuff he might frown upon.

Today in KFC there were no vacant tables due to the ever-popular toonie tuesday (oh wait, now it's $2.22. I don't think they should be able to call it toonie anymore). The dumb thing is, the tables were mostly occupied by one or two people. But nobody standing asked if they could sit down at the same table. And nobody sitting suggested it.

I can understand if you're at some place like Earls and this old guy comes up and asks to sit at the same table as someone hot like me with my hot girlfriends. But I mean common, wouldn't Colonel Sanders want us to endorse a little hospitality?

If YOU were Colonel Sanders, would you offer the old guy a place at your table and some chicken? Well maybe not the chicken. It might cause him a heart attack. Brett was reading a Weight Watchers Points book. KFC drumstick: 6 points. KFC drumstick without the skin: 2. Hilariously Finger Lickin' Good.

Did you know that there's a $500 fine for harassing geese in Wascana lake? I want to know why there's no fee for THEM for harassing US. The last time I went to give them bread, one pecked my butt so that I'd turn around and feed him. Stupid geese.

I personally like to chase after baby geese. They are so cute. I just want a hug from them but they won't stop running away from me! Brett always gets mad at me for chasing them. And for chasing the bunnies in the park.

THAT'S IT. I am so sick and tired of people criticizing me for being a Catholic, and informing me of a FEW of Catholicism's doctrines as a justification for why I should leave the Church.

Apparently I'm just an educated person who, for some reason, has never thought about why I'm Catholic. I don't want to get into the details, but I refuse to discuss this with anyone until THEY educate themselves about the difference between Catholics and Catholic Fundamentalists, as well as ask a couple of my friends who are gay Catholics why they have chosen this religion.

I it when people preach to you about things that you've obviously considered before. Do they think they have some kind of new, crazy revelation that I haven't heard? Why are they so arrogant as to assume they somehow know what's best for me?

Outrageous! Apparently the Regina Airport Authoritarians have decided that water fountains are bad and have replaced them with huge vending machines that sell solely Dasani. One dollar seventy-five for a bottle of refiltered junk.

What if I got stuck in the terminal like in the movie Terminal. What would the Airport Authority do then? Let me die, or let me live? The answer remains unclear because apparently they don't have carts that cost money to use.

Would they force me to drink from less favourable sources? That is the REAL question. Would YOU choose a dignified death, or an ashamed existence drinking from toilets?

Wow. I am so overwhelmed by all the nice wishes people are sending me! :)
If I had of known this would be such a big deal to people, I would have definitely phoned every single one of you the day of or very shortly thereafter!

I love my friends! You are all so great and are all an inspiration to me! (Sorry, I am very mushy tonite).

Couple of notes (sorry for the *inside comments* stuff):
- Derek how did Maryanne find out?
- Sonia you are so presumptuous
- Um no Kat I'm going to put a sign that says No Kats allowed on the door. BTW, I need to know your bloggey. Please send the address.
- Leander what's with the 6th?

Today there is loads of sun out! Hooray! The snow is melting, and the kids outside of our house are busy floating toothpicks in the miniature streams.

In other news: I'M GETTING MARRIED!!!

Brett came out of the closet (oops, I mean popped the question... I guess that wouldn't be possible if he was gay) Monday night.

Yesterday some of my friends said "Why didn't you tell us right away?!?!" See, I was ready to phone everyone right away but then Brett said he was going to wait until the next time he did something with his friends to tell them. But then one friend Heather pointed out: "You're a girl! Of course you wanted to phone everyone right away and you should have!"

So I don't know who to phone first now. Since Levendis and Brett both don't think it's tacky to post this on my blog, I've decided to go this route!

Heidi and Marissa, I am being cheap, I know. Actually I just don't know when I'll be able to get ahold of you by phone, and I figure this way I don't have to decide who to phone first out of Les Filles. Leander I don't have your phone number so there. And Kat you're too hard to get ahold of by phone! :)

We'll probably get married in August 2006 in some rural location.

About me

  • I'm Fishsticks
  • From Belgium
  • I am a Francophone that is a strong supporter of General T. Foolery’s mission. I use this blog to post about rien du tout or je-ne-sais-quoi ici et là. There’s nothing derisive or divisive here. No no, that takes too much effort. I try to post hebdomadarily. It rarely works given my slackedness.

Unfortunately, my sidekick B.A.Q., an Anglophone, sometimes adds lackadaisical posts to this site, including tales of two nations warring within the bosom of one house. I apologize for this not-so-hilarious inconvenience. It does not happen frequently.
